Day 4 - OMG it's early!

His parents live across the street from a lumber yard/hardware store. The noise starts at 5:30am. Without air conditioning we sleep with windows open so I have to be awakened with the noise! This is vacation?

Of course he is already awake - old people don't sleep much at night. But they take naps during the day (so I grabbed his phone to update my fans).

Anyway slow day today. He washed the bugs off the car (gracious, the whole front of the car was full of them - but they won't have the guts to do that again!). The picture doesn't do justice. And to think the mosquito is the Maine state bird!

Oh, that reminds me of a joke! What's the last thing that went through the bug's head as he hit the windshield? (answer below)

Then he replaced some old smoke detectors, shopped for a new ceiling light fixture, and took his mom out for lunch (aka dinner in this part of the country) for her 78th birthday.

Oh, yeah, let's not forget that he held the ladder on the roof of the back porch so his 82 year old father could paint the peak of the house. Oh my, isn't he helpful! And considerate!

Answer: his butt! Ah, qua qua qua! I quack me up!
