Day 8 - Interloper!

Hi everyone - Sean here. I am writing this today for DucKie (hope I'm doing this right!). DucKie is a bit miffed today. He saw me reading a blog by Joan donKey (or something) and was a bit off-put that I was reading that blog (he used the words interloper - I had to look it up, too - and upstart) but not reading his! Go figure - I didn't even know he had a blog until he mentioned it this evening! And he confessed that he was using my phone to write it!!! I can't even figure out when he got the phone from me to write it. That's a conversation we are going to have tomorrow on our drive to the coast.

Anyway since he has been doing this blog all week and claims he has "a huge fan club" I thougt it only appropriate that you get an entry today even though DucKie wasn't going to write it. So you have me today. He tells me that he just writes what it is that happens that day so here goes.

1. My brother, Kevin (he is a year older than me and has a twin, Kathleen), finished painting the back of the house today. It appeared that he got about 60% of the paint used actually on the house. The remainder was evenly split between the roof, his clothing, and his legs. But he got it finished between two rainstorms.

2. Meanwhile, my other brother, Danny (he prefers Dan but he's still Danny to me! - he's my eldest sibling and is 4 years older), spent the morning finding useless information on the internet and sharing it ("oh yeah, the price of gas in Smyrna is 10 cents higher", "here's a chart that shows gas prices across the whole state", etc. ). Of course we were thrilled with the knowledge.

Am I doing this correctly? Seems like a lot of useless information.

3. I drove my father (82 years old) to the doctor today. He has been having pain in one of his legs. This was the first time with this doc and my father was pleased with the doc as well as with what he heard. Likely restricted blood flow in the lower leg - it explained all the symptoms. So an MRA next week and then back to the doc to discuss treatments. Fortunately my sister, Scratch (aka Maureen - my only younger sib - 2 yrs younger) is now here from Florida and can help out.

[I am wearing out....]

4. My two brothers and the nephew left around 1pm to head back to southern Maine and New Hampshire. Had a good time seeing them.

5. Another nephew (son of Kathleen, the twin) and his fiance stopped by this afternoon. Chatted for a while about their upcoming wedding.

6. Shortly after the nephew left we called his sister who is a month into being a new doctor in Massachusetts. All is well there.

Well, that's about it. Stephanie and I will leave tomorrow morning to head to the coast. We will meet up with Dave, Dana and the kids. Really looking forward to it! Their eldest, Madison, has put together an extensive list of things to do there. If we finish half of them I will me wiped out! I will try to take some pictures - may DucKie can put some in his blog (can he do that?)

Not sure if DucKie mentioned that the president is now on Mt Desert Island, where we are heading. Hopefully it won't get in our way of the various sights.

Alright - hope the DucKie fan club is satisfied with this lengthy entry. Pray that your host cools off and returns tomorrow.

Goodnight.
